Improvements for Our Parish School of Religion
We are excited about the vision behind our Casting Wide Our Nets capital campaign, which will enhance the facilities that support the entire parish community, including our Parish School of Religion (PSR). These improvements will have a meaningful impact on the students, catechists, and families who rely on these spaces for faith formation.
The addition of an ADA-compliant entrance to the gym and parish center will make these spaces more accessible for everyone, from catechists and staff with mobility challenges to parents, grandparents, and siblings. Whether attending a family night, a parish event, or a CYC sports game, this update ensures that all members of our community can fully participate.
Upgrades to the HVAC system in the school will create a quieter and more comfortable learning environment. These improvements will benefit not only PSR students but anyone using the classrooms, ensuring a welcoming space for learning and growth.
A new crosswalk on Jefferson Avenue will enhance safety for everyone crossing between the church, Youth Room, and parking areas. This is especially important for PSR students and catechists, who often meet in the evenings when it’s dark.
Additionally, the reconstruction of the Adams parking lot will improve traffic flow, making drop-off and pick-up safer and more efficient for PSR families and others using the space.
Upgraded restrooms in the school building will provide a cleaner and more comfortable experience for students during their weekly classes and for others who use the facilities.
Though PSR classes meet just once a week, the time adds up—students spend over 40 hours annually in these spaces. In addition to classrooms, our PSR program regularly uses the gym, cafeteria, Youth Room, and church, making these updates essential to their experience.
